Student representatives have hit back following the AHRC’s press conference praising the work of universities against sexual violence.
USyd students are less likely than than the national average to know where to seek support for sexual assault and harassment.
The survey includes results from 39 Australian universities and over 30,000 students.
The student briefing process has been muddled, and representatives including Wom*n’s Officers have not been made privy to results
“We, as student representatives, have been listening to students’ experiences of sexual violence, of institutional cover-ups, of inadequate prevention and support, for many years.”
The results have been delayed in response to concerns about the planned May release date.
The other 38 universities involved in the study will also be releasing their data.
The network, which will host it’s first meeting this Wednesday, is likely the first of its kind in Sydney.
