The increasing mistreatment of staff in the tertiary education sector is symptomatic of a larger evil: university degrees become increasingly commodified, and universities themselves become corporatised.
The strike action will be the largest in the UK’s history.
Staff and students joined forces to restrict access to Camperdown and Conservatorium campuses today in support of the NTEU’s ongoing enterprise bargaining campaign.
The vote will occur next Tuesday at the NTEU USyd branch meeting.

The second day of strikes continued the University-wide shut down in support of staff and NTEU demands for fairer working conditions.
