The primary motion was the backing of a Student General Meeting (SGM) to demand the University disclose and divest all ties to Israel. Deaglan Godwin (SAlt) moved the motion noting that the recent SGM at the University of Queensland was the largest campus action supporting Palestine in Australia.
The NTEU has estimated that the accrued underpayment could total over $10 million, with some individuals being underpaid more than $45,000.
The NTEU’s and Students for Palestine’s “USyd Cut Ties with Genocide” rally took place in front of the encampment, with various speeches remarking on the solidarity between staff and students in demanding that the University cut ties with Israel.
