In a joint statement through the Australian Tertiary Education Network on Disability (ATEND), ten advocacy and representative groups requested an “immediate retraction of ableist language used in the Accord and a recalculation of the target participation rate for people with disability to be inclusive of all people.”

Students Against War (S.A.W.) and Stop War on Palestine organised a snap rally on Thursday 4 April at the Sydney office of Department for Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in response to the death of an Australian aid worker in Gaza, Lalzawmi ‘Zomi’ Frankcom. Zomi was amongst seven World Central Kitchen workers killed in their convoy by an Israeli military air strike, announced on April 2.
In an open letter, civil rights organisations have called for the government to repeal “anti-democratic” NSW anti-protest laws, or failing that, introduce “a community consultation component into the statutory review of the 2022 amendments.”
The rally centred the fight for trans liberation, stating that trans visibility requires political action.
The Court acknowledged that “the catastrophic living conditions of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have deteriorated further”, specifically citing the “prolonged and widespread deprivation of food and other basic necessities.”
